Welcome to Palmetto Bay
A seaside village bubbling with family-friendly charm
Palmetto bay is a sun-soaked village, lying just along Florida’s gorgeous Atlantic coastline. With shady palm trees overhead and architectural designs that wouldn’t feel out of place in downtown Havana, the village is drenched in an alluring Caribbean style. Palmetto Bay borders a shimmering, blue coast and is painted with wide patches of green woodland. Yet the views here don’t just serve as a bit of eye candy. The forests are brimming with adventure. If you can see it, you can explore it, from placid canoe rides along the C-100 Canal to lovely hikes through Bill Sadowski Park. The joy of connecting with nature is always at your fingertips. Then when the morning’s journey is over, you can gather friends and family together for a picnic. You’ll know when you feel it. That constant sea breeze, those endless waves; this is home.
One of the most fascinating sites found on this gorgeous stretch of land is, without a doubt, the Cutler Fossil Site. After the sinkhole’s discovery on the Charles Deering Estate in 1979, archeologists have unearthed thousands of bones and artifacts dating back thousands of years. It was also determined, in part to these discoveries, that the semi-nomadic Paleo-Indians first inhabited this land roughly 10,000 years ago. From mammoth bones to those of the saber-tooth tiger, a wide variety of human and animal remains have been excavated since the site was first explored. For residents looking to learn more about the region’s rich history, the Charles Deering Estate offers tours nearly every day of the year. It regularly holds a variety of events, including concerts, art exhibits, and cruises.

Local Lifestyle
The people here are welcoming and neighborly. Whether you’re looking to stay involved or just want a bit of peace and quiet, Palmetto Bay can easily accommodate your desires. If you do find yourself longing for the hustle and bustle of life in the big city, Miami is only a 30-minute drive north, but you aren’t restricted to merely driving. Why not take the boat out for a peaceful cruise up along the coastline instead?
Palmetto Bay has an air of old Florida charm. Palmetto Bay’s city planning wonderfully preserves the landscape's natural splendor and prevents the village from turning into another concrete jungle. Perfection was already in the cards here. Mother nature sculpted these lands, and Palmetto Bay knows the value of not bringing too many cooks into the kitchen.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
In this suburban haven, you can always treat yourself at the Dapple Bar + Kitchen and brighten your days. Perhaps, instead, you’re looking to spice up your week with Bulla Gastrobar’s Spanish cuisine. Then for an authentic taste of Peruvian culture, Aromas Del Peru offers customers the quickest trip down to Peru possible. You won’t even need to pack your bags, and you’ll be back home before you even realize you left. Maybe you’re looking to sink your teeth into a bite of the Caribbean. Golden Rule Seafood has you covered. You can even bring a slice of the enjoyment home at their adjoining market. Maxwell Bros. Clothing Store, on the other hand, is a lovely place to shop for some new threads; that is as long as this season’s fashion is made of cheese and pepperoni, but seriously, their pizzas are incredible.
Things to Do
If golf is your game, then the Palmetto Golf Course can help you hone your skills or give you a lovely place to socialize over a friendly match. If golf isn’t quite your style, you’ll still have a treasure trove of activities throughout the village to take part in. For example, Palmetto Bay Park has a variety of softball fields and basketball courts, while the historical Charles Deering Estate boasts a handful of luscious hiking trails to enjoy. The village doesn’t hold the largest or the most parks in the country, but who needs any more than this when you have a forest in your front yard and an ocean in the back?
